The Last Hope RP: Lore

In the beginning, a group of zealous cultists known as The Crows believed they had uncovered an ancient ritual that would grant them the power to summon a cosmic deity to raze this cruel world they lived in. The deity promised them power beyond their wildest dreams, and the cultists eagerly began to conduct their ritual.

But their desires blinded them to the potential consequences of their actions. As the ritual neared its completion, a dark, ominous energy emanated from the altar, and a rift in reality opened up. From this rift emerged a demonic being, wreathed in shadow and sickly green light.

The being unleashed a powerful, virulent plague upon the world, infecting every human it touched with a virus that caused them to become undead ghouls, varying in size, strength & ability. The outbreak spread quickly, and soon the world as we knew it was overrun by the undead.

Fortunately, through a wild wisp of luck, there was one place that managed to survive the initial outbreak: Deer Isle. This small island region off the coast of Maine somehow managed to have regions remain untouched by the plague, and it became The Last Hope for the survival of mankind.

The final remaining human city on the island was called Bastion Hold. Here, the remaining survivors banded together to defend themselves from the infected, ghouls, bandits, and members of The Crows who sought to snuff out the last vestiges of humanity. They work together to develop resources & maintain the last example of human society before the plague stopped the world in its tracks.

Outside the city border lies the Ravaged Lands, a lawless wasteland made up of islands, cities, mountains, vacant military camps, industrial zones and much more where mercenaries, anarchists, bandits, hunters, and wayward souls roam free. Here, people can find remnants of powerful military arms that were left over from before the outbreak, which can be used to fight against the plague and help mankind survive.

But danger lurks around every corner in the Ravaged Lands. Ghouls, undead, radioactive gas, The Crows and other monstrous creatures lay in wait, ready to prey upon any unsuspecting victims who wander into their territory.

Despite the dangers, some brave souls venture out into the Ravaged Lands, seeking to uncover secrets that could help mankind survive. But they know they need to be careful, for the horrors that await them could be more terrifying than anything they could ever imagine.
